Dear Friend,
In honor of Mother's Day - this e-zine is about being a Mother. It
is a tribute to our mothers - the actual mothers we have had - but
it is also a tribute to the mother that is within each one of us,
every day, all of the time. Read below to see what I am talking
about... :)
Peace, Love, and Beauty,
Sarah Maria

Being a Mother
We have all been blessed in our lives. No matter how many challenges
we have faced, no matter how many tribulations we have endured, we
all have been showered with blessings in our lives. Take the time
right now and look - even in the midst of adversity, can you find a
blessing, large or small, that seems to be the universe's gift to
you? It might be in the form of a beautiful child, or perhaps
financial security in otherwise turbulent times. Maybe it is a
great relationship, or perhaps a friend who has stood by your side
since high school. Maybe it is just a beautiful place where you can
go and relax.
Gratitude is one of the most powerful emotions you can
experience. When you focus on blessings, on what you have to be
grateful for, what you have to be grateful for grows. You can
actually create more joy, more peace, and more abundance by focusing
and honoring on the blessings in your life.
One of the greatest blessings in my life has been my mother. I
have been blessed with a mother who has been a source of love,
support, strength, and friendship my entire life. When I was facing
challenges as a small child, she was there. When I experienced
success, she was there. Even now as an adult, she is still here, a
constant source of support, love, encouragement, and empathy in my
life. (Just one small example - she just helped me move - again.
That's right - this was the third move in the last year, and she has
helped with them all. Thank you, Mom! And don't worry, I won't be
moving anytime soon... :) )
There are many things in my life that I am grateful for, and my
mother is at the very top of the list.
If you have been blessed by a beautiful, caring, and compassionate
mother, be sure to take time to offer love and gratitude from your
heart.
But what if your mother was less than a model of compassion?
What if your mother had so many problems of her own, she just didn't
have enough time for you? What if you never knew your mother? What
if your mother abused you?
The absence of a loving mother can create a deep wound in your
heart, a deep pain that needs to be healed. There is a beautiful
truth, however. Each one of us has within us a loving, compassionate
mother whom we can call on in times of need. If you have not been
blessed with an external mother, you can access your internal mother
to offer you all the guidance, support, love, and encouragement that
you need.
When you access your internal mother, you will discover that you can
be both the child and the parent. You can use the wise and powerful
mother within to heal any broken parts inside. You can call on your
internal mother to heal your inner child. You have the power and the
ability to offer yourself all nurturance, all support, and all
compassion.
So let this Sunday be a tribute to all mothers everywhere: to those
compassionate souls who have taken on the most important job in the
world - that of caring for another being - as well as to our own
innate maternal guidance that is within each of us always, awakening
us always to our true magnificence.
If you want to learn more about how to heal yourself and improve
your life, check out my upcoming teleclass on Healing the Heart.
I had to change the date, so it will be starting on Wednesday June
3rd, 6 pm PST, 9 pm EST. Registration will be starting next week, so
keep your eyes peeled for an email early in the week.
Wishing you a most beautiful Mother's Day.
