A Note From Sarah Maria
Dear Friend,

Well, as always, I hope this email finds you doing wonderfully well, and if not, hopefully you will be feeling much better by the time you finish reading!  I am going to keep this note brief because there is a long article this week and many great books and upcoming events that I want to tell you about. Set aside some time when you can grab a cup of tea, take a moment to relax, and please enjoy this e-zine!

A quick note on changing seasons:
The transition from summer to fall can often create a sense of loneliness. (The reason for this is related to the 5,000 year old tradition of Ayurveda, which I would be happy to discuss more in detail in a later e-zine.)

For many, loneliness can be a scary and often debilitating emotion. It can create a sense of feeling lost, alone, and even abandoned. Loneliness can lead to a host of unhealthy behaviors, including disordered eating, drinking – any number of addictions. At the very least, loneliness can be downright uncomfortable. If you happen to be struggling with some loneliness in your life right now, whether from the change in seasons or any other reason, here are a few simple things you can do to help replace the loneliness with a sense of love.

  1. Be gentle with yourself. Feeling lonely doesn’t mean something is wrong with you or that you have done something wrong.

  2. Tune into your body. See if you can locate the feeling of “loneliness” in your body. If you can identify it, practice consciously filling that space with love.

  3. Ask yourself what you can do to help yourself feel better. Can you connect with a community online? Can you call a friend? Perhaps visit an animal shelter? Volunteer? Take a warm bath? Remember that in every moment you can make a conscious choice to help move you in the direction you want to go.

  4. Remind yourself that you are love. You don’t have to go anywhere, see anyone, or do anything to find love. You are Love Itself. Remind yourself of this and you will gradually begin to experience it more and more in your life.

  5. Read the article below. It is specifically about feeling beautiful, but the steps outlined in the article apply to any area of life – read it and you will see what I mean.

Quick reminder: my book Love Your Body, Love Your Life is currently available for purchase.  If you buy now, you will still be eligible to receive the great bonus gifts and prizes that are being offered as part of the official “Amazon” campaign on Nov. 3rd, so no need to worry about that.  I will be telling you all about the great prizes as we get closer... If you happen to read the book and find it helpful, please write a review on Amazon.com. Every bit of support and feedback helps!

As always, please post any questions or comments to my blog at www.breakfreebeauty.com/blog.

Your 7 Steps to Start Feeling Beautiful... TODAY!

How many times have you waited for something to change so that you could finally start feeling beautiful?

Or let me ask the question another way: how many times have you jumped out of bed, looked in the mirror, and thought, “Oh my gosh – I am stunning!  Sweetheart, wherever you are, you better come and give me a kiss because I look gorgeous!”

If you are like most people, the answer to the second question is “Never”, and the answer to the first question is “my whole life”.

Here is the problem: Most of us tend to live with the delusional belief that we somehow need to change in order to be beautiful, attractive, and desirable. For the vast majority of women, and a growing number of men, we are taught since childhood that certain conditions need to be satisfied before we can be considered stunning. Here is just a small sampling of the stories you might be telling yourself about your beauty:

When I lose this extra weight, then I will be attractive.
I will look much better when I finally lose this extra baby weight.
If I can just get my abs a little more toned, then I can wear that bikini I love.
I feel so much better after I put on my make-up in the morning.
I looked much sexier before I had these wrinkles.
My hair looks drab and lifeless until I get it colored.
Clothes looked so much better on me when I was a size smaller.

Chances are at least one of these stories sounds somewhat familiar to you. The real problem is that we think these stories - these lies - that we have been taught are true. We rarely stop to question the validity of these assumptions. We believe that we somehow need to change who we are, how we look, and what we do in order to finally be sexy, attractive, and drop-dead gorgeous.

This is a lie – an erroneous, ubiquitous, and often painful lie. The truth of the matter is that you are inherently, unconditionally, and absolutely beautiful and loveable right now, without changing a single thing. From the moment you wake up in the morning to the moment you go to sleep at night, regardless of anything and everything else, you are beautiful, lovable, and deserving of all affection and adoration. The problem is never that the beauty is not there, the problem is only that you do not yet know how to see it.

We all view reality through our mental filters. Most of us have been raised with filters that tell us we are not attractive unless we change something. These erroneous filters distort the reality of our inherent perfection and beauty.

Fortunately, very fortunately, we can change these filters. With a small amount of effort and re-education, we can begin to change the limiting stories that we tell ourselves. We can begin to change how we perceive ourselves by removing all the limitations and erroneous assumptions. We can begin to see ourselves as we truly are: inherently beautiful, absolutely loveable, and irresistibly attractive. As you remove the filters that eclipse your perfection, you will gradually begin to experience more beauty, more perfection, and more love than you ever imagined possible.

Ready to get started? Here are 7 simple and sure-fired ways to help you jump out of bed and feel truly beautiful:

1.    Become Aware of the Lies You have been Led to Believe

Yep, that’s right, Step #1 in any transformational journey is simply to become aware. Become aware of what is happening and what has happened, so that you are no longer reacting on auto-pilot. Through awareness alone, you can begin to transmute your reality and transform lies into truth.

Since you have read this far, you are already well en route. Hopefully you have identified some of the ways that popular cultural lies have influenced you and undermined your experience of your own inherent and undeniable beauty. If you have had a glimpse, even a small glimmer, of how you have been brainwashed about beauty, congratulations – you are ready to begin experiencing yourself as the wonderful, glorious, and stunning being that you are.

2.    Actively Acknowledge that There is no Inherent Truth in these Lies

Step #2 is the natural progression of Step #1: once you become aware of the lies, actively acknowledge that they are lies, that there is no inherent truth or validity to them. As we are growing up, we receive endless messages about reality. These include messages from our parents, our siblings, our teachers, our peers, media – there are an endless array of influences that shape and sculpt our perception beginning the day we are born. The problem occurs when we accept these messages without question – when we take someone else’s experience of reality as the ultimate truth.

In order to find freedom, simply acknowledge that there is no inherent truth in the messages you have been told. There is no inherent truth in the claims that you need to change something about yourself in order to be beautiful. Rather, you can start feeling beautiful immediately, in this moment, without changing a single thing. What prevents you from this is the erroneous belief that it is not possible, that you somehow need to change. So, Step #2, acknowledge that there is no inherent truth in the messages that you have been told.

3.    Set an Intention to Free Yourself from Delusion

You can change your perception of reality, no doubt about it. By using the power of intention, you can free yourself from the delusional thought patterns that are keeping you trapped in the illusion of "not-good-enough." Setting an intention is simple: intend to create a different reality for yourself. Write the intention down, view it regularly, and watch to see how your life transforms. Here are some examples:

  • I intend to experience my inherent beauty, without changing a single thing.

  • Or: I intend to see my beauty and perfection at all times.

  • Or: I intend to know I am inherently beautiful, lovable, and worthwhile.

You get the idea – simply set an intention to create what you desire.

Focus on implementing these 3 steps into your life THIS week.  Stay tuned for Steps 4-7 in next week's ezine.
